At Salon Joy, offering exceptional hair service and customer experience is priority. For this reason, in order for our stylists to ensure your hair service satisfaction, new clients booking a hair coloring service are required to have a complementary 15 minute hair consultation prior to booking the service. Color consultations are set mainly to protect and inform the client on the process necessary to achieve the hair coals as well as the cost. During the consultation, you will have the opportunity to tell us about your needs, and it will give us the time to examine your hair.

Here are some things you can expect during the consultation:

The colorist will ask you a few simple questions to get things started on the right foot. For an example, what type of color are you looking for? Do you want a subtle or more dramatic change? Do you want highlights or lowlights? Please feel free to bring examples of your desired result.

Skin tone, facial features and eye color are evaluated. An expert colorist takes these into consideration to choose your idea shade.

The hair's texture is also evaluated. Depending on whether its fine, medium, or course, the texture indicates how quickly the hair will lighten or how resistant it will be (thus taking longer to color). If there is any gray hair, the colorist will take note of this in determining the right product for covering lighter strands.

The colorist may take a hair strand to prepare a formula for testing. If this is done, the colorist will share the results with you within 24 hours.

A hair color consultation is a good step towards ensuring a few new hair color.

​

While we do ask our clients to come into the salon so we can have a face-to-face consultation, we are able to make exceptions and accept an online consultation for certain services, including root touchups, and some non-lightening color services.

Please note, that the stylist reserve the right to ask for a face-to-face consultation if hair tests are required.
